It is a busy year for XYZprinting; the company has introduced seven new 3D printers in 2016 and the below discussed da Vinci 1.0 Pro 3-in-1 is one of them. The new 3-in-1 is the successor to the highly successful Da Vinci 1.0 Pro and is actually technically largely identical. It is XYZ contribution to the rapidly growing number of multifunctional 3D printers on the market; namely the device features a built-in high-resolution 3D scanner and you can (optionally) also engrave. A truly multifunctional and that for only about $ 100 more than the Da Vinci 1.0 Pro!
The integrated scanner has a 360-degree automatic turntable and dual-laser scanning technology and is extremely user friendly. The printer itself has an aluminum printbed for even heat distribution and is easy to calibrate with rotary knobs and leveling. The easily replaceable laser head can be replaced with an optional head so that you can engrave materials such as wood, leather and cardboard. WiFi and USB 2.0 provide the much needed connectivity.
With a resolution of 100 to 400 microns and a construction area of 7.9 x 7.9 x 7.5 inches (200 x 200 x 190 mm) is the da Vinci 1.0 Pro 3-in-1 no high flyer, but most consumers and hobbyists will will be fine. Printing is possible with PLA, ABS, HIPS, PVA, PETG and Wood Fill, and in that the temperature of the nozzle and of the printbed can be set, it is possible to use filaments of different suppliers.
